It's that time of year again. It's the time of the year when we're able to spend time with our friends and family and open some nice presents. Last year, I wrote a blog post on how to keep your holiday season eco friendly. I thought I'd make a new post this year. Here are few reminders!
To help the environment during the holidays always think of the three R's, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
Reduce: To reduce your impact on nature, you can;
- Buy certified Fair Trade chocolate, coffee, and other environmental and socially conscious gifts. Another great way to help out is to buy long lasting clothes that are well sourced. These clothes will last you long and come from factories where workers are treated fairly and make an acceptable salary.
Reuse: A great way to help out is to reuse bags from years past to wrap your gifts. This is quite possibly the most effective way to reduce unnecessary waste. This also reduces the production of single use plastic and paper.
Recycle: Remember to recycle wrapping paper, plastics, food scraps, and electronics.
Get outside: Another way to integrate the environment into your winter break is to try and get outside to enjoy nature with friends and family during this beautiful time of year!
Have a great holiday season!
