Hi, I'm Sam. I began taking photos in 2011 on a family road trip to the beautiful Rocky Mountains of British Columbia and Alberta and soon became hooked. I've always loved nature and wildlife, so naturally my photography has since focused on those subjects as you'll see on this website. In 2019, I have begun expanding my photography with a mix of street and architectural photography as well as portraiture.
Born and raised in Vancouver, I have been surrounded by nature my entire life. As I began taking photos, my favourite subject was, and still is, birds. My life list sits at 256 species, many of which have been seen in the Metro Vancouver area, a testament to the region's natural diversity, located near the Internationally recognized Fraser River Delta Important Bird Area (IBA). I believe that photography is a great tool to inspire action and change in the world for the better. I hope that my photography and writing brings you joy and can foster a better understand of the wonders of nature and our world.
