What do bees, birds, butterflies, and bats have in common? They’re pollinators. Whether a miniscule Wool Carder Bee or a beautiful Anna’s Hummingbird, they all play a crucial part in their respective ecosystems. They pollinate the flowers of the food we eat as well as those of other plants.
Pollinators need our help. Pesticide use and habitat destruction threaten these wonderful creatures. One of the best ways of helping is to plant indigenous plants and flowers in your garden. Additionally, it is important to support farmers who find alternatives to harmful pesticides. Together we can ensure a healthy future for this amazing group of animals.
